Family seeking help in recovering a stolen BMX bike

On Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 8:45 p.m., my son, Dennis Evans, had his BMX bicycle stolen from the Target Center parking lot in Simi Valley. Someone had the nerve to just take it from the back of my pickup truck. I'm really mad and frustrated, but also determined to fight back.

Dennis paid for and built the bike himself. BMX is his passion, the same way football or baseball is for someone else. Dennis first started out on a bike he bought for $15 from another kid. As he improved we upgraded the bikes.

We have more trophies than I can count in my home to show his determination for the sport.

If you are reading this, I need your help. If you saw anything that night or if you know someone who saw something, please tell us. Help me find the person or person who did this. I need your eyes.

We are looking for a silver "Redman" Tomahawk Pro XL race bike.

It will have the "Redman" name right on the frame. It also has answer drive forks, FSA Xdrive cranks, sun ringle 4-stroke cassette hubs, and a distinctive red GT piston stem and marching seat post clamp.

All efforts will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Contact Dennis Evans at (805) 4163123 or (805) 5872359 or Charlene Evans at (805) 390-4746 or (805) 531-9090, Ext. 223 or Simi Valley Police Department at (805) 583-6950, case No. 07-283.

We just want the bike back, no questions asked. Charlene Evans Simi Valley
