Get more wear from your wardrobe

Finding that one piece of clothing that's a perfect addition to your wardrobe is like finding a diamond in the rough.

However, keeping it looking new presents a challenge.

Here are a few tips on caring for clothes:

+To get the best wash out of each cycle, wash similar sizes to

gether so the detergent distributes evenly, and use a laundry booster that enhances the detergent's cleaning power. Washing clothes properly can make them last as much as 40 percent longer.

+Using a clothesline or drying rack is better for garments. In addition to saving money, it also benefits the environment. To avoid

ironing, remove clothes from the dryer slightly damp and hang them up to finish drying.

+To keep buttons attached, dab clear nail polish on the center of each button to seal the threads.

+Carry baby wipes to help remove stains, lint and dirt from clothing or shoes.
