Hospital program helps smokers quit

Smokers wishing to kick the habit are invited to attend the "Freedom from Smoking" program beginning 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 and meeting for eight consecutive weeks through Feb. 12 at the East Campus of Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center, 150 Via Merida, Westlake Village.

The cost for the entire series is $50 payable at the first session and refundable for those who attend all the sessions. There is no cost to Los Robles Hospital employees.

The program helps smokers identify the physiological effects of smoking or chewing, and evaluate the reasons why people smoke or chew. It also provides techniques to quit smoking or chewing.

Preregistration is required by calling (805) 370-4515. The program is facilitated by Margaret Maslakowski, registered nurse.
