Commercial lot will be rezoned for 16 town homes

      Nearly four years after it was first proposed, a project to construct town homes on the corner of Stow Street and Los Angeles Avenue was approved by the Simi Valley City Council on Monday. The project, which calls for the construction of 16 town homes on a 1.35-acre site at 5496 Los Angeles Ave.

CHP on the lookout for toys
Gifts will be distributed to families in need
      The California Highway Patrol will host the annual CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive through Friday, Dec. 21. Donated toys, which must be in new condition and left unwrapped, can be dropped off at any CHP office statewide, including those in Moorpark and Ventura. The offices are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

      The Farm Center and Farm Market at Underwood Family Farms will be open weekends only through Sunday, Dec. 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. After Dec. 16, the entire farm will close for the season until March 1.

Air Force One authors hold book signing
      Authors Joel and Michael Cohen, a father-and-son team from Westlake Village, will be on hand later this month to sign their book documenting Air Force One's final journey to Simi Valley's Reagan Library. The Cohens will be signing books at Borders at 2 p.m. Satruday, Dec. 22. The store is at 125 W. Thousand Oaks Blvd.
