2007-11-30 / Faith

Annual event to be staged at 7 p.m. tomorrow

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints invites the community to "Christ is Born Today," an evening of Christmas choral music at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Sinaloa Chapel and Cultural Hall, 480 Sinaloa Road, Simi Valley.

The concert features a 45voice choir, brass, solos, small ensembles, flute, violin, percussion and organ accompaniment.

Before and after the concert, guests may view a display of more than 200 nativity scenes from around the world, including the smallest known on the head of a pin and the Santons, "little saints," from a village in Southern France, each figure representing villagers bringing gifts to the Christ child.

Also, a creche display will be open from 5 to 7 p.m. and 8 to 9 p.m. Both displays are open to special groups on Saturday by appointment.
