     HOW LOW WILL SHE GO?- Lilly Cottrell, 8, of Simi Valley contorts her body during a game of limbo at Park View Elementary's 'Sock Hop to Stomp Out Drugs' on Wednesday. The dance, sponsored by the school's PTA, was part of Red Ribbon Week, which went on Monday through Friday at all district elementary schools. 'Pirates' director talks at Grace Brethren
      Gore Verbinski, the director of the three "Pirates of the Caribbean" films, came to Grace Brethren school to meet with the students in the Performing Arts Department. Accompanying him was Raphael Sanchez, one of the camera and lighting crew directors.

Award ceremony will honor educators
      The Dream Fund Outreach will present its inaugural Joy Awards from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley. Teachers and schools in Ventura and Los Angeles counties will be honored for their work in guiding children and developing curriculum.
