Learn more about the MOMS Club
Simi Valley mothers are invited to attend an open house of the MOMS Club, an organization for stay-at-home moms, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10 at Simi Valley Town Center.
The event will be hosted by members of the three Simi Valley chapters of the club in the center court of the mall, during the children's arts and crafts session hosted weekly by First 5 of Ventura County.
The MOMS Club, or Moms Offering Moms Support, is a worldwide nonprofit organization helping mothers of young children find no-cost and low-cost family activities to participate in during the day.
Activities include scheduled play dates and group trips to the park and indoor playgrounds.
"It's especially ideal for firsttime moms because they get to have an opportunity to ask questions, be with other moms and learn things from them," said Lisa Erman, president of the Simi Valley East chapter of the club.
The organization, which was founded in Simi Valley, maintains its nonprofit status by holding fundraisers and doing charity work and other community service projects. There are currently more than 70 members in Simi Valley.
"My children have developed great friendships," Erman said. "I've developed great friendships. It's nice being able to interact and not having to feel like you're just by yourself."
For more information, attend the open house on Oct. 10 or visit momsclub.org.
