Painter Ines Blesilda "Bessie" Jacinto will be featured in an art show, "The Color of Light," from Sept. 1 through 28 at the Simi Valley Senior Center, 3900 Avenida Simi. The public is invited to the artist's reception on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at the center.

Jacinto's mostly impressionist paintings are inspired by local and foreign landscapes. The show consists of images in pastels, oil and watercolor intended to evoke serenity and contentment in their unique renditions of familiar objects and sceneries.

Jacinto is also one of the featured artists at the Simi Valley Vino Jazz & Art Festival on Sept. 15 at the Simi Valley Town Center.
