Army National Guard Sgt. Jose A. Contreras Garcia has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to Iraq. He is an 11year veteran and an infantryman normally assigned to the 1st Battalion, 185th Infantry in Fullerton, Calif.

He is a 1992 graduate of Simi Valley High School and the son of Jaime and Gerrie Contreras Garcia of Simi Valley.
