Golf fundraiser will double as bone marrow drive

11-year-old suffering from cancer needs a match

The Kevin Cordasco "Courage Strength Believe" Golf Fundraiser is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 26 at the Lost Canyons Golf Club, 3301 Lost Canyon Drive, Simi Valley.

Registration and putting contest begin at 10 a.m., with a fourplayer scramble at noon, followed by dinner at 6 p.m.

The cost is $250 per player and $60 for dinner only.

Proceeds from the event will go toward helping Kevin, an 11year-old West Hills boy who has been suffering from cancer and is undergoing a stem cell transplant at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

Corporate sponsorships are available, and items will be accepted for the silent auction.

A bone marrow donor drive will also take place during the event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the golf club.

Participants will register with the National Marrow Donor Program Registry for a possible match with a patient.

Those interested must be between the ages of 18 and 60, meet the health guidelines and be willing to donate to any patient in need.

All registered donors are subject to a $52 tissuetyping cost, pending available funds.
