Every year the city budgets millions of dollars to fix up Simi's street problems- both major and minor.
This year's budget for road improvements has doubled over last year- from $3.3 million to $6.7- primarily because the city's targeting larger, more extensive projects, but also because of rising construction costs.
Areas of focus for this year's round of roadwork include parts of Sinaloa Road, Royal Avenue, Madera Road and Yosemite Avenue.
Other neighborhoods can also expect street improvements to be coming their way. Plans are tentative; roads are usually reevaluated each year or at least biennially.
