Softball team raising funds for new diamonds

2007-06-29 / Schools

Royal High School softball players and their parents have begun raising funds to build two playing fields on the school's campus.

The money raised will supplement the $150,000 that the district is paying.

The Simi Valley-based nonprofit The Amanda McPherson Foundation has pledged $50,000 toward the effort, leaving about $135,000 still to be raised.

Those donating $5,000 will receive a banner hanging on the fence at one of the fields in addition to the other items awarded for smaller donations.

For $2,500, $1,000, $500, $250 and $100, donors will receive various amounts of exposure and publicity, such as a plaque, ads in program, name on recognition board and/or name in list of contributors.
