Marcus Shelby, a junior at Simi Valley High School, has been accepted for membership in the National Society of High School Scholars. The society invites students who have achieved superior academic excellence.

Shelby has lettered academically in his sophomore and junior years. He is a member of the varsity football team and the boys' varsity track team. He was named to the 2006 Academic All-Ventura County football team.

His parents are Floyd and Patricia Shelby.
