Local skateboarders finally have a league to call their own

      Skateboarding is not a crime. Of course, it's never been much of a team sport, either. One local man, however, is trying to change the way skateboarding is perceived at the high school level. Jeff Stern, a 38-year-old father of three who grew up in Westlake Village and now resides in Thousand Oaks, has started the California High School Skateboard Club.

      Gase I am scared to death of the next Friday the 13th, which happens to be coming this April. You see, my co-worker is Steve Dorman, and on April 13 his beloved San Diego Padres will officially be out of the National League West race when they play the Los Angeles Dodgers for the first time. From then on out, Dorman will probably be angrier than the Incredible Hulk on steroids.
