5 Simi students hope to 'reflect' well at statewide creativity competition
Categories include visual arts, dance and film production
      The Simi Valley Unified School District is shining bright with five students from different grade levels nominated to attend the state level Reflections contest. The program, which is a national PTAsponsored contest, encourages students to express themselves creatively and pursue artistic expression in one of six focus areas.

Local high schoolers selected for the semifinals in performing arts contest
      The Music Center of Los Angeles County announced 91 high school students who were chosen as performing arts semifinalists for the 19th annual Music Center Spotlight Awards. The students were selected from more than 1,155 Southern California applicants who auditioned in ballet, nonclassical dance, classical voice, nonclassical voice, classical instrumental and jazz instrumental music.

Sinaloa will play host to 'Transition to Adult Life' fair
Annual event set for this Tuesday
      The Ventura County Special Education Local Plan Area will present "Transition to Adult Life" annual fair from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Sinaloa Middle School, 601 Royal Ave., Simi Valley. This fair will help families, professional and special education students with the transition process as part of the IEP.
