Art association to select scholarship award winners one week from today
      The Simi Valley Art Association will present its annual Art Scholarship Awards Friday, Jan. 19. Judging will begin at 7:30 pm and awards made about 9 p.m. The awards are for graduating high school seniors in Simi Valley who plan a career in art.

GBHS senior will represent VFW in state competition
      A senior at Grace Brethren High School has been chosen to represent the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10049, Simi Valley, and District 7 in the state finals of the Voice of Democracy scholarship competition. Caleb Hargis will join 24 other district representatives in Sacramento for three days beginning Jan. 18.
