      Is our future really so bleak? The year is 2027. The last child was conceived 18 years ago, and Mankind is slowly stagnating. Nobody knows why the human race has become infertile- although with a hopeless future, with every human life that much more precious, it seems we've become even more hell-bent on destroying ourselves.

      To those Simi Valley residents who have yet to fulfill their dream of dancing with the stars, the next best thing is available: dancing with the star's mom. For the past 20 years, locals have been learning the art of dance under the tutelage of Patsy Swayze, mother of Patrick Swayze, at The Dancer's Studio in Simi Valley.

Family-friendly walking tour of Calabasas movie landmarks highlights film sites
Santa Monica Mountains have played home to endless movies, TV shows
      Harry Medved, co-author of "Hollywood Escapes," will lead a family-friendly walking tour from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28 through Malibu Creek State Park, off Las Virgenes Road, three miles south of the 101 Freeway. During the walk, Medved will point out locations seen in various Hollywood films.

Fall to pieces with CAC's 'Patsy Cline'
      "Always . . . Patsy Cline" will run until Feb. 11 at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center. Friday and Saturday shows are 8 p.m.; Sunday matinees are 2 p.m. This show is filled with comedy and the songs that made Cline a country music legend. Two women, one a rising star and the other a devoted fan, meet by chance at a Houston honky-tonk in 1961.
