Church sponsors new grief support groups

Maggie Urpin, OneSpirit Center for Conscious Living staff minister, and Kathy Kumme, MFT psychotherapist, will be offering a support group for people who experience loss of any kind.

This is an ongoing group that will meet on the second Monday of each month beginning Mon., Jan. 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the OneSpirit Center for Conscious Living, 1756 Erringer Road, Simi Valley.

This group is for people who have experienced a loss, whether

it be of a loved one, a pet or a job, home or relationship. Participants will be exploring the five stages of grief: denial and isolation, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.

Through experiential workshops and shared information participants will be encouraged to move beyond the pain of grief and loss. There is no cost to attend.
