'Ashyln Project' draws attention from across Los Angeles

TEAM EFFORT-Simi Valley resident David Bonebright watches as more than 50 of his fellow deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff's Department work on a makeover of his backyard, a task which included raking, sweeping, chopping trees and cleaning debris. Nicknamed "The Ashlyn Project," the event was organized to help Bonebright and his wife, Christine, who were featured in a Simi Valley Acorn feature story last month about their young daughter, Ashlyn, who was born 13 weeks premature and has a number of serious health complications.
