Auction to benefit Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley will host its 28th annual auction, "Party on the Nile" on Sat., June 10 at the club headquarters on 2850 Lemon Drive in Simi Valley.

Event chairs this year are Hal and Carol Reniger, and Mayor Pro Tem Glen Becerra and his wife, Sally.

Tickets are $85 before June 1 and are $95 thereafter, which include admission, an auction catalog, hors d'oeuvres, dinner and a live auction.

Over the years the club has auctioned many unique items, including mystery trips, tickets to sporting events, gourmet-catered dinners, automobiles and more.

Thousands of dollars are raised for student scholarships at every auction.

The programs at the club focus on increasing the student's self esteem while building leadership skills; all while enjoying activities with their friends. The club provides a variety of programs including Leaders-In-Training to encourage youths to volunteer in the community, Education and Career Development, Homework Club, sports, fitness and recreation, drama, cooking, science and more.

The Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley offers many opportunities for children to branch out and find their niche while providing parents with the peace of mind knowing their children are in a safe, positive, environment.
