Ventura County Sheriff's Foundation launched Bruce de la Cuadra, president of Simi Valley Pontiac-GMCBuick, is the founder of a new nonprofit organization, the Ventura County Sheriff's Foundation (VCSF), dedicated to raising money to purchase equipment and materials for the Ventura County Sheriff's Department which are not covered in the county budget. The foundation will review requests submitted by the department and then determine which purchases are feasible and the best use of funds raised by the foundation. "Ventura County is one of the safest regions in the country. By creating this foundation, we can hopefully, provide the department with the necessary tools needed to protect us into the future," said de la Cuadra. Foundation board members are long-standing supporters of law enforcement, with a history of helping the sheriff and donating their time and expertise to many civic causes. The board of directors includes: de la Cuadra; Carl B. Alaniz of Kniss & Alaniz Real Estate Services Inc.; Kevin Bernzott of Bernzott Capital Advisors; Scott Harris of Mustang Marketing; Carol Taylor, president of Accurate Engineering; David P. McCormick, retired from Dave's Towing Service; and Michael D. Bradbury, retired Ventura County district attorney. "We're planning a number of events to raise funds for the foundation, such as and an annual gala dinner and golf tournament, membership drive, and an on-line specialty merchandise store," said de la Cuadra. "We will also launch a direct mail campaign to solicit donations from private citizens and corporations." For more information about the foundation, visit www. sheriffsfoundation.com. |
