Five area schools win $1,000 grants to buy equipment, enhance arts programs
     Theater League has announced the winners of the 2006 High School Grant Program. Five high school performing arts departments received grants of $1,000 in support of their musical theater curricula. Among the winners were schools in Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley.

Zonta Club donates to literary program
     The Zonta Club of the Conejo Valley Area recently donated $1,200 to support the Dual Literacy Program at Justin Elementary School in Simi Valley. The program supports at-risk English language development students currently enrolled in the fourth and fifth grades at Justin.
