Fundraiser held to raise money for kidney

A fundraiser was recently held at the Señor Gomez Courtyard Restaurant for Dominic Scrudato, who needs a new kidney. Dominic lives in Simi Valley, along with his wife, Kim, and their almost twoyear-old son, Jaden.

Dominic has been in complete renal failure for more than five years. During that time, he has had five surgeries due to complications with implanted catheters and dialysis. Using dialysis nine hours each night is no longer sufficient to adequately remove the toxins from his blood. He required more surgery to implant a new venous catheter into his chest in order to begin hemodialysis.   Dominic has also been rushed to the emergency room six times due to his inability to control blood pressure and calcium and potassium levels. He suffers from uremia and fatigue from anemia.

Dominic is in need of a kidney donor and for monies to help pay the expenses of a transplant. To make a donation to the Dominic Scrudato Kidney Fund, call Doug Feco at (805) 584-2591, ext. 23 or (805) 404-4402 or e-mail doug@hbwinc.com

Volunteers who would like to be tested as a potential kidney donor may call the UCLA Donor Line at (866) 672-5333.
