Royal, Simi Valley basketball teams face off tonight

An always-heated rivalry takes on extra meaning tonight as the girls’ basketball teams from Simi Valley and Royal high schools square-off with playoff seeding on the line. The winner of the contest finishes third in league, while the loser finishes fourth and must face a top-flight team in the first round of the Southern Section playoffs. The game begins at 7 p.m. at SVHS. The rival schools face each other in boys’ basketball as well, with tipoff at 7:30 p.m. at Royal.
