Applications being accepted for Area Housing Authority commissioner

The city of Simi Valley is soliciting applications to fill one vacant commissioner position on the Area Housing Authority of the county of Ventura Board of Commissioners.

The candidate will serve the remaining term of the previous commissioner, which is set to expire on Feb. 23, 2007. The commission’s duties include policy making, protection of public funds and general oversight.

The board meets twice a month and members are paid a stipend of $50 and mileage reimbursement for each meeting they attend.

The deadline for submitting applications is Fri., March 17. The selection process will include interviews.
