Knights of Columbus to celebrate 40 years in Simi Valley

The Knights of Columbus Council No. 5803 will celebrate 40 years of volunteer service in the Simi Valley community with a variety of activities this weekend.

Tonight, Fri., Jan. 27, a Charter Night Dinner will honor all charter members at the St. Rose of Lima Parish Hall, 1355 Royal Ave., Simi Valley.

Social hour will begin at 6 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. with a dinner catered by Viva La Pasta. Dancing to live music by Sour Cream & Jive will be from 9 to 11 p.m.

The program will be presented by Master of Ceremony PGK Lorne Lundgren and will feature keynote speaker PGK Russ Ireland, the council’s first elected Grand Knight.

Notable attendees will be Mayor Pro Tem Glenn Becerra, City Councilmember Barbra Williamson and Jared DeGonia, representing Judy Mikels, Ventura County Board of Supervisors.

The council will host a United Services blood drive from 7:30 a.m. to noon tomorrow, Sat., Jan. 28, at the parish hall.

A charter family Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Sun., Jan. 29 at the church. A pro-life breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 11 a.m. in the parish hall.
