Simi Valley Chabad to teach ‘Kabalah of Time’ course

Starting Tues., Feb. 7, the Chabad of Simi Valley will present an eight-week course, “The Kabalah of Time,” a text-based and multimedia-enhanced class, at 2375 Sycamore Drive, Simi Valley. The course will also premiere in more than 160 locations worldwide.

“The Kabalah of Time” is a course of thoughtful inquiry that will present students with a different notion of counting the days of their lives. Learning from ancient texts of Jewish mysticism, students will learn to respond to the inherent flow of time.

The course will look at daily cycles, weekly cycles, monthly cycles and yearly cycles. Students will see how the special dates and times of the Hebrew calendar give insight into the spiritual energies governing particular moments. Students will learn to use this knowledge to imbue life with meaning and live each day to the fullest.

The course is created by the world’s largest network of adult education and the adult education arm of Chabad-Lubavitch, the Jewish Learning Institute (JLI). JLI classes and programs have been attended by nearly 35,000 people since its creation in 1998, and thousands more participate virtually through JLI’s online message boards and other Internet-based channels.
