Police looking for man who robbed gift shop at gunpoint

An armed man robbed Rayeli’s gift shop at 1902 Hubbard St. in Simi Valley at 4:52 p.m. on Dec. 12.

The man entered the store and conducted a minor transaction with the clerk. He then pulled out a handgun and demanded money. The clerk handed over about $700 according to police reports.

The man ran outside and toward an apartment complex south of the store.

Simi Valley police officers conducted a search using police dogs, but the robber was not found.

Police are requesting information from the public about the incident.

The man was described as a Hispanic adult, about 30 to 35 years old, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds.

When last seen he was wearing a gray hat, navy blue pants, a white T-shirt, gray sweatshirt and black plastic-framed sunglasses.
