Debi Aquino, owner of Black Star Graphics, is the Women's Information Network of Simi Valley's 2006 Woman of the Year.

She was honored by the group at its installation luncheon in November.

Aquino was recognized for her contributions to the chapter and the community. Her education in graphic design and visual communications at UCSB provided her with the background to provide full-service printing, web design and advertising solutions.

In addition to her graphics business, Aquino is also an instructor for Simi Valley Career Institute.

She is chairman of the board of directors for the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce and will serve as vice president of membership for the Women's Information Network of Simi Valley in 2007.

The network is a nonprofit, nonsectarian organization intended to create a network of businesswomen and community leaders who support each other in their business and professional development.
