The Moorpark American Legion Auxiliary Unit 502 is sponsoring a Veterans' Lap Robe/ Blanket Program.

Residents may donate a purchased fleece blanket or throw (58 by 60 inches) or a homemade throw (45 by 58 inches). The blankets will be delivered to the patients of Veterans Hospital between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The state of California has 8,000 veterans in hospitals. Blankets delivered to veterans last year were greatly appreciated.

Throws and blankets may be brought to the One More Time Thrift Store, 220 High St., Moorpark, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays or Sundays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Taxdeductible cash donations are also accepted. Checks may be made out to Moorpark ALA Unit 502 and mailed to PO Box 131, Moorpark, CA 93020.

The last day to donate items or cash is Sunday, Dec. 10.
