The Ventura County district attorney's office will seek the death penalty against Randolph Clifton Kling, 50, for the murders of Michael and William Budfuloski of Simi Valley.

Kling was indicted by the Ventura County Grand Jury in December 2005 on charges of the murders of Michael Budfuloski in Simi Valley on Feb. 24, 2004, and William Budfuloski in Lancaster on Aug. 9, 2003.

The defendant also faces special circumstances for multiple murders and for allegedly committing both murders by means of lying in wait and for financial gain.

Kling is also charged with animal cruelty for killing William Budfuloski's dog, Moo, and for the unlawful possession of firearms, ammunition, a firearms suppressor and a forged driver's license.

Kling is pleading not guilty to all charges. The case is scheduled for motions and a jury trial on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
