Jonathan Lutz, 30, of Canyon Country was killed in a traffic accident at 1:17 a.m. Oct. 28 in Simi Valley.

He was driving westbound on Los Angeles Avenue near Rancho Santa Susana Park when his vehicle drifted onto the center median and hit a tree.

Lutz, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered major injuries to his chest. He was taken to Simi Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Simi Valley Police Department's traffic unit is continuing investigation. It's not yet known if alcohol or drugs were a factor or if Lutz had a medical condition or fell asleep prior to the accident.
