I have had the distinct privilege to work side by side with Donna Prenta in her relentless support and advocacy of our youth (with and without special needs) here in Simi Valley. I have seen evidence and heard from others about her wellearned reputation as a passionate advocate for youth at the county level.

Much of the reason I made a decision to join the Special Education Advisory Committee in the Simi Unified School District is because of Donna's shining example of what can really be done to help our students.

She doesn't just talk about what can be done, she does it. She takes action, a rare thing these days. As a special educator, I have seen and felt first hand the trials and joys of working in education. Together with our fellow board members and district representatives on the board, Donna has taken concrete action to help our students and teachers here in Simi Valley.

I watch her orchestrate and follow through with seemingly impossible feats as she makes sure that children in group homes get a special Christmas; students in all pro

grams, special and general ed, get scholarships; and our community is educated through forums.

I may sound partial, but have done my homework and have looked into the opponent's credentials. I have watched as Donna has reached out to the people in the community for support and has received it with overwhelming results.
