City still the place to get your passport

A new requirement regarding the need for a passport when traveling goes into effect Jan. 8, 2007.

All air and sea travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda will require a passport.The requirement will be extended to all land border crossings on Jan. 1, 2008.

The city of Simi Valley is a designated agent of the Department of State and accepts applications for passports and administers oaths in connection with the acceptance of applications.

Applications are accepted from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at city hall, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road. Applicants must have an appointment.
