Donna Prenta is once again pouring her heart and soul into the community. I know this best because I am her husband of 28 years and uniquely qualified to express how devoted and dedicated she is to serving our community.

Our only daughter, Laura, was born severely disabled and we already had three young boys. With tenacity and tireless devotion, Donna saved our daughter's life while studying medical and educational systems. With boundless courage she negotiated, collaborated, and fought to see that Laura received all the necessary medical, support service and educational opportunity available.

Donna has never stopped applying these personal attributes or the skill and knowledge that she has gained. She became a professional advocate for other children with disabilities and mental illnesses and created teams of social, education, medical and legal professionals with a significant impact on the children she has helped.

Donna has the ability to see a situation from many perspectives and therefore has been very successful in orchestrating collaborative efforts and reaching agreements on the behalf of children in need, children whose futures were literally rescued or positively altered.

Donna is the president of the Special Education Advisory Committee and has raised awareness in the community of children with special needs and assisted families.

She has raised money to provide student scholarships. I have been well rewarded as year after year I watched with a tear in my eye as Donna handed out scholarships to students beaming with pride at their achievements and with every reason in the world to continue in their own personal quest to improve themselves.

I am writing to support Donna Prenta for Ventura County school board. I have known Donna for 16 years and feel she is a wellqualified candidate for the position.

She currently works as a case manager for special needs students and assists them to get the services they need within the county school system.

She has raised four children in Simi Unified School District. Her focus will be to identify atrisk students and assist in getting needed services. She will fight to get resources into the school districts.

Her experience as a student advocate makes her sensitive to both the needs of the school and of the student.
