Supervisorial candidate Foy is the 'Invisible Man'
If anybody ever watched the movie "The Invisible Man," the great movie effect was a suit walking with the appearance of nothing inside the suit. The 4th District Ventura County supervisor's race reminds me of that movie. Peter Foy, candidate in this election, has for two straight election cycles managed to avoid any public forums or provide any substance to the issues he has brought up.
Peter Foy is the invisible man. He skated into the lead in the primary election, because he allowed the other two candidates to talk specifics and debate each other, while he put out feel-good sound bites.
Now we get to the general election and again he says very little and then declines two offers for a public forum, first from the League of Women Voters and by the Star newspaper. On a side note, Mr. Foy, the League of Women Voters is biased? Don't insult our intelligence; if you don't want to speak just be man enough to say that you don't want to discuss your platform with the public, don't insult the honorable members of the League of Women Voters.
In a recent interview when asked about Rocketdyne, Peter Foy simply said that maybe we should look in to it, while Jim Dantona laid out a clear plan of how he would ask for an investigation by the district attorney into what has been covered up at this site. Whether you agree with Mr. Dantona's position or not, you have to respect that he understands the issues, discusses substance, and agrees to meet in a public forum to talk about those issues. That to me is true leadership.
Bottom line Mr. Foy: No Substance. No forums. No vote. I am voting for Jim Dantona for county supervisor on Nov. 7. Tony King Jr. Simi Valley
