Dantona cannot be trusted with county's finances
The 4th district supervisorial race points mainly in one direction: Who will manage the county's finances best? The answer is obvious: Peter Foy. County government is so large, so diverse, with so many state and federal mandates, that the biggest challenge always is money. Very easily county government could make some poor financial decisions and end up bankrupt, ceasing services for the needy in our communities. Orange County is just one example. Yet Mr. Foy's opponent has filed for bankruptcy, not once, but twice. Among us average citizens, filing bankruptcy even once would be a lifetime event. But twice in seven years? You can claim family emergencies for one, and we voters might give you a mulligan. But twice? Only Peter Foy can be trusted with the county's finances. A business owner who built a very successful business from scratch, Mr. Foy understands finances, and understands that you cannot spend more than you bring in.
We need at least one voice of fiscal conservatism on the Board of Supervisors, and Mr. Foy's opponent clearly is not that voice. Only Peter Foy can be trusted with the county of Ventura's finances. Margie Ings Simi Valley
