Standard time returns across the United States at 2 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29 when clocks should be turned back one hour.
Daylight-saving time has been in effect since the first Sunday in April.

Daylightsaving time was created to give more hours of sunlight for leisure-time activities during the summer months and as a means to save energy.
The Simi Valley Police Department suggests this seasonal time change as an excellent time to repair broken or burned out light bulbs and trim landscaping that might be obstructing lights.
With the busy holiday season coming up, officials say, now is the time to be proactive about home safety. Proper lighting in addition to regular maintenance is an important component of a good crime prevention plan.
