Granddaughter of Cesar Chavez will speak at Cal Lutheran forum

California Lutheran University will host the Cesar Chavez Legacy in Action at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25 in the Preus-Brandt Forum on CLU's main campus.

Christine Chavez, granddaughter of the wellknown labor activist, will speak.

Christine Chavez has made a lifetime commitment to public service by carrying on her grandfather's legacy.

As a member of the Community College League of California, Chavez is currently working on an initiative for the 2008 ballot that will grant community

colleges more state funding. She has also worked with the United Farm Workers Union, an organization co-founded by her grandfather.
