The Simi Valley Council on Aging began accepting applications Monday from persons 50 years of age and older who are interested in reserving vendor space at this fall's Arts and Crafts Fair.

The fair, which is free and open to the public, will be held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3 and 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Simi Valley Senior Center, 3900 Avenida Simi.

"We've got room for 40 to 50 vendors," said Laurie Dickinson, senior services manager for the center.

Vendor spaces for the twoday event cost $40 for an indoor space and $30 for a patio space.

All spaces include a table and two chairs.

Space will be rented on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dickinson said the annual event gives artistic seniors a chance to showcase their work and earn a few extra dollars for holiday gifts for the grandchildren.

"We've got some very talented seniors, and this gives them an opportunity to show their wares and make a little extra Christmas money for themselves," said Dickinson, who began her job at the center just six weeks ago. "We really encourage the public to come out and support their seniors."
