Fillmore and Western Railway's pumpkin patch filled with Halloween haunts
Witches, ghouls and goblins come out to haunt at the Fillmore & Western Railway's private pumpkin patch known as "Ichabog" throughout October. Costumes are welcome on all trains.
Each Saturday and Sunday, starting Oct. 7, families can take the PumpkinLiner excursions to go looking for their own "Great Pumpkin." Travel to "Ichabog" in the Heritage Valley, where pump- kins start at $1.
Bring a bag to carry it home. Activities will be offered at the patch.
Costumes are welcome as long as it is easy to see and persons have sturdy footwear. Dress for the farm fields.
There will be tri tip sand- wiches, hot dogs, sodas, and bottled water are available at the patch for purchase.
Train tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for youth ages 4 to 12 and $6 for children ages 3 and under.
The train departs from Central Park in downtown Fillmore on Sat- urdays and Sundays at 10 and 11 a.m., and 12:10, 1:10 and 2:20 p.m.
Return trains to Fillmore run at regular intervals throughout the day.
An evening train in October carries riders to "Ichabog" to dis- embark and search for the Head- less Horseman in the dark. A bar- becue meal is served at the patch and is included in the ticket.
Tickets are $38 for adults, $16 for youth and $10 for children age 3 and under.
Trains depart at 7 p.m. Friday and Sunday, Oct. 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, and return at about 9:30 p.m. to Fillmore. Pumpkins will be available for purchase.
"Fright Night" is a spoof of old Hollywood monster films on Sat- urday, Oct. 14, 21 and 28. A din- ner of prime rib or chicken cordon bleu is provided. Reservations are required and limited to adults age 18 and up.
