Local high school senior Krisina Klug of Simi Valley was one of several area youth to be named to the Presidential Scholars program during the opening con- vocation at California Lutheran University.

The program recognizes and rewards graduating seniors of outstanding academic caliber.

Students receive scholarships ranging from $14,000 to full tuition for four years of college.

Applicants had a grade point average of 4.24 and average SAT scores of 1211.
