Royal students honored for craftmanship
NOTHING TO QUACK AT-This almost lifelike mallard duck decoy earned Royal High School sophomore Travis Ford a first-place ribbon at the California State Fair. Woodworking students from Royal High School won awards for their projects at both the California State Fair in Sacramento and the Los Angeles County Fair this summer.
At the state fair, sophomore Travis Ford won first
place, graduate Brian Austria earned second place, senior Michael Lee won third place, and graduate Chris Davenport and junior Trevor Smith both received honorable mention.
First place winners at the county fair were Ford, Davenport, Lee, Austria and sopho
more Jared Gigliello. Second place went to Smith and third place to senior Miles Swanberg.
Ford and Davenport also earned best of class at the county fair.
