A high-speed chase led Simi Valley police from the city into Granada Hills before an arrest could be made.

Two males fled following a vehicle burglary that occurred at the Costco parking lot in Simi Valley at 1:45 p.m. on Sept. 18.

Officers spotted the pair's car headed eastbound on the 118 Freeway at Stearns Street. The vehicle failed to stop and officers chased the two into Granada Hills at speeds of up to 100 mph.

The vehicle left the freeway at the Woodley Avenue off ramp . The vehicle spun out of control but didn't hit anything, and the two fled on foot.

With the assistance of numerous Los Angeles police officers, both males were found hiding in bushes and taken into custody without incident. Four stolen car stereos, four amplifiers and four boom-box speakers were recovered.

Francisco Alvarez, 23, of Lennox was booked on suspicion of vehicle burglary and felony evading. A 16-year-old male, also of Lennox, was cited.
