Enhancement Education Grant applications (formerly Classroom Grants), sponsored by the Simi Valley Education Foundation, are now available at each public school site in Simi Valley and online at www.svef.org.

Application deadline is Mon., Oct. 9.

Grant applicants must be an educator for any grade, K through 12, in the Simi Valley Unified School District. Grants range from $500 to $5,000.

The grants provide an opportunity for educators to expand and improve a classroom, grade level or department's academic environment; develop richer curriculum; and provide students with learning experiences not possible through the limited school budget.

The foundation believes that investing directly in the creativity and commitment of teachers is one of the best ways to improve student learning and achievement. This year, the foundation will accept grant requests not only from teachers, but from departments and/or grade levels as well.

For more information, call the foundation at (877) SIMIKID or e-mail info@svef.org.
