Strathearn Park event brings history to life

person Celebrate a Day of History aStrathearn Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., Sept. 17 at 137 Strathearn Place, Simi Valley (enter from Madera Road). Visitors can enjoy speciashows and attractions for adults and children alike. The day will include two special presentations, displays, vendor booths, family games, and tours of the historical buildingsFood items will be available for sale, including Togo's sandwiches and Baskin-Robbins ice cream.
Linda Bredemann will give a special performance at 1 p.m. in the visitor center, "A Walk Through Time."
She will demonstrate a "typical week in the life of an Edwardian family" with period clothing, props, trivia and audience participation.
Warren Palmquist will portray Abraham Lincoln at 2:30 p.m. in "From Sea to Shining Sea" at the visitor center.
Throughout the day, visitors can observe Chumash dancers, horseshoeing demonstrations, antique cars, and operating vintage farm equipment from "Rusty Relics" of Palmdale and "Topa Topa Flywheelers" of Camarillo.
The original St. Rose of Lima Church and garden will feature newly-installed memorial stones. Cost for the event is $5 per person, which includes performances.
