Not in favor of fluoridated water

The public should be aware that the fluoride that is added to drinking water supplies is not simply what is in your toothpaste. It is a biproduct of the fertilizer industry, called siliconfluorides. It is a toxic waste.

Your water supply is not going to be fluoridated because your dental health is a public concern, but as a cheap outlet for toxic waste dumping.

Only calcium-fluoride naturally occurs in water and that is never the type that is added to water supplies.

If I look in my Water Quality Annual Report from Southern California Water, it flat out lists one of the "typical sources" of fluoride as 'discharge from fertilizer and aluminum factories."

Now, I believe I am in a lucky minority of Simi Valley citizens that my water does come from this company and they do not add it to our supply and assured me they have no plans to do so.

The majority of you, however, should be doing everything you can to protect yourselves. Do not just take this as "oh well, some natural hippies don't want fluoride," but do your own research.

I brush my son's teeth with fluoride-containing toothpaste every day, but if I had your water supply, I would not even be wanting to bathe my children at home with tap water, much less cook with or drink it. Melanie Ingler Simi Valley
