'A Chorus Line' now auditioning dancers

Cabrillo Music Theatre has announced that auditions for "A Chorus Line" are slated for Sat. to Mon., Aug. 26 to 28.

Set on the bare stage of a New York theater, "A Chorus Line" follows an eclectic group of young dancers hoping to land a job in the chorus of a Broadway show. Performances will be held from Oct. 27 to Nov. 5 in the Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Rehearsals begin in late September.

Auditions are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sat., Aug. 26 and from noon to 9 p.m. Sun., Aug. 27 at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, Thousand Oaks. The call is for non-equity actors. Equity actors only may audition from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon., Aug. 28 at Screenland II, 10501 Burbank Blvd., North Hollywood.

All auditions and callbacks are by appointment only. All auditions are dance calls, due to role requirements. All roles are open and are available to non-union performers. There is pay for all roles.
