Ventura County Agency on Aging seeks proposals for senior health projects

In its ongoing effort to promote senior health and fitness, the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging will be funding health screenings and physical fitness activities.

The agency is accepting proposals for projects that will service Ventura County residents aged 60 years and older.

Priority preference will be given to projects that target seniors who are economically or socially needy and/or isolated by disability, language, culture or geography.

About $80,000 in grants will be funded using federal Older Americans Act monies. The initial contract will be for Oct. 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007, with a one-year renewal through June 2008.

Eligible applicants are public agencies, nonprofit organizations and for-profit organizations that serve Ventura County. Collaborations are strongly encouraged. Grants are not available to private individuals.

All funding requests must be submitted via the Request for Proposal application package. The application and request for proposal are available online at http://aaa.countyofventura.org.

Hard copies of the completed
