Gallegly's "cold hit" DNA bill gets presidential approval
D.A. says new legislation could impact 300 unsolved homicide cases in Ventura County
     President Bush has signed into law provisions championed by U.S. Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Thousand Oaks) that will provide federal grants to local prosecutors to help them prosecute cases stemming from "cold hit" DNA cases, cases where DNA on file matches evidence in a previously unsolved crime.

     In last weeks' Letters section a submission by local dentist Josie Dovidio, DDS, was titled "Dentist gives his approval of fluroide." This was incorrect. Dr. Dovidio is a woman.
